During France’s first game, Kylian Mbappe broke his nose.

After breaking his nose in France’s opening match of the European Championship, Kylian Mbappe will need to wear a face mask if he continues to play in the competition.
Since Mbappe won’t require emergency surgery, the French Football Federation announced on Tuesday that it had received “positive” news regarding his prospects of playing at Euro 2024. However, it did not say how long he would have to wait to play again.
As of right now, the news is fairly comforting because no surgeries are scheduled for the near future. It’s a little early to set a timeline for his participation in the remaining matches of the tournament, according to federation president Philippe Diallo.

After France defeated Austria 1-0 on Monday, Mbappe was seen by team physician Franck Le Gall and subsequently transported to a hospital in Dusseldorf.

A mask will be created, according to the federation, so Mbappe can “consider resuming competition after a period devoted to treatment.”

“They tried to reduce the aftermath of his fracture, for him to be able to stay in the tournament,” Diallo stated. “We’ll wait to see how things play out until the end of the day. However, the material was generally quite positive, in my opinion.”

During the Group D match at Dusseldorf Arena, Mbappe lingered on the ground after his face clashed with Austria’s Kevin Danso’s shoulder as he attempted a header. Parts of his white shirt turned scarlet as blood spurted from his face and his nose swelled severely.

Patrick Pentz, the goalie for Austria, motioned for immediate medical help.

“We’re concerned about Kylian leaving the field in that manner,” N’Golo Kante, a midfielder for France, remarked afterwards.
